Pull up the drawbridge. because our Escape mattress is designed be, well, just that. An escape from the stresses of the day, your own oasis of cushioned comfort.

Our tech team tested many natural materials for their ability to cushion, support, breathe and last. But they found the hero of the hour close to home: soft, pure British wool (over 8 kgs of it per king size mattress to be exact), famed for its freshening breathability.

The other stars of this soothing show are the sheep that graze peacefully on the Hampshire downs: it’s thought that their wool is resilient and springy, which is why we believe your mattress will still feel as comfortable at the end of its life as it does at the beginning.

CoreMax™ sprung base

Few people know more about springs than our mattress experts. So when they told us they’d discovered a new, even better sprung base design, we were all ears.

The CoreMax™ base is cleverly designed to provide softness at initial touch, but complete body support when you lie down. Each king size mattress has up to 1,000 high carbon steel, pocketed springs in seven different zones of firmness to match the needs of the different parts of your body – plus it’s reinforced by a steel frame to minimise roll off at the sides.

The result? Cushioned pressure relief and body aligned support. From side to side, top to bottom.

Our patented, conical, micro springs are key to the award-winning sleep we’re famous for. So we’ve added a second layer of them to the Escape mattress. Because in our book, more springs means more support and more air circulation.

So apart from the 1,900 titanium alloy Aerocoil® micro springs already nestling in the upper layers of each king size Escape mattress, it also features a layer further down the mattress; it’s designed to provide extra support for heavier bits like hips and shoulders, and to encourage the flow of fresh air through the mattress.

Our new Earth mattresses start life on Hampshire farms, not factories. Because that’s the home of the sheep who produce the unique Hampshire Downs wool.

The factory where our experienced craftsmen and women work their magic is in Hampshire too. And although we might use machines to give us the precise measurements and weights for every layer, it’s these teams that guide the layers, fill and close the mattresses - not too tight, not too loose; it’s a gentle art that requires lots of care and experience to do properly.
